{"id":1142,"date":"2016-01-04T07:52:28","date_gmt":"2016-01-04T07:52:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/truthindeed.com\/blog\/?p=1142"},"modified":"2016-02-09T03:20:24","modified_gmt":"2016-02-09T03:20:24","slug":"coated-chickpea-nuggets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/truthindeed.com\/blog\/2016\/01\/04\/coated-chickpea-nuggets\/","title":{"rendered":"Coated chickpea nuggets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ingredients:<br \/>\n4 cups cooked chickpeas, drained (or 2 15 oz. cans- drained and rinsed well)<br \/>\n2 cups cooked brown rice<br \/>\n\u00bc cup gluten-free bread crumbs<br \/>\n1 teaspoon each:<br \/>\nHimalayan pink salt<br \/>\nGarlic powder<br \/>\nOnion powder<br \/>\nGround Tellicherry black pepper<\/p>\n<p><em>Directions:<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Put all ingredients into food processor bowl fitted with &#8220;S&#8221; blade and process until smooth.<\/em><br \/>\n<em> Form into small balls- about 1 tablespoon each- then flatten into nuggets.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Coating:<br \/>\nIngredients:<br \/>\n\u00bd cup millet flour<br \/>\n1 teaspoon ground sage<br \/>\n\u00bd teaspoon Himalayan pink salt<br \/>\n1 teaspoon ground Tellicherry black pepper<br \/>\n3\/8 cup water<br \/>\nCoconut oil for frying<\/p>\n<p><em>Combine all ingredients (except oil) in mixing bowl and whisk to mix.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Put each nugget in the mixture and coat well. (I use a small fork to scoop each one out of the batter and put in the frying pan.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Heat oil. Fry nuggets on medium high heat until browned on each side.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>NOTE: Batter should be fairly runny. It thickens as it sits. (If it is too thick, it will separate from nugget while frying.)
