Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
The above scripture is Jesus speaking. He tells us here that when we pray we need to also have the faith to believe that God will answer our prayers, and He will!
But John expounds on that subject a little more when he states:
1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
1 John 5:15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
Please notice in verse 14 that John tells us that if we ask any thing according to his will, that is, God’s will- which means those things that God has promised to us in His Word- then He will answer our prayers.
The word petitions in verse 15 means requests. John is telling us here that God will grant our requests when we take them to Him in prayer, IF we are praying something that is according to his will- or that He has promised to us in His Word, the Holy Bible.
So according to these scriptures, when we have a need we should simply go to God in prayer, and sincerely have the faith to believe that He will provide for our needs, and He will!
Eddie and I- Gail- go to the Lord with ALL of our needs, and He supernaturally provides for every one of them! It is just awesome to see the power of God in action!
(For those of you who don’t know us- our last paychecks were in 2001 and 2002! And yet, God provides!)
We had to have a plumber come in on Friday to put in a new toilet. While he was here we asked him to check a leak under our bathroom sink. He told us that the pipe under the sink needed replacing, and quoted us a price of 75.00.
We nicely told him that we just didn’t have that much money right now, but would pray that God would send it in to us. (We never quite know where it will come from- but GOD ALWAYS knows!)
When Eddie picked up our mail on Monday, there was an envelope with a check in it from a woman who lives in another state. And you guessed it- the check was for exactly 75.00, and had been mailed on Friday- the very day that the plumber was here!!
(By the way- we don’t talk to his woman very often, and she had no idea that we needed that exact amount of money- but GOD knew!!!)
So the plumber came today and put in a brand new pipe under the sink!
Isn’t God good?!
